Foodscapes is an itinerant exhibition originally presented as Spain’s Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2023, curated by Eduardo Castillo-Vinuesa and Manuel Ocaña. The project investigates the agro-architectural context of Spain to address global questions surrounding food production, distribution, and consumption, positioning food systems as spatial, territorial, and ecological constructs rather than purely technical processes. Through a combination of audiovisual works, documentary materials, and photographic research, Foodscapes traces the architectures that sustain contemporary food systems, from domestic kitchens to large-scale logistical landscapes. By examining past and present models, the exhibition opens a critical reflection on alternative futures capable of feeding the world without exhausting environmental resources, aligning architectural research with broader ecological and territorial concerns.
