Filipe Magalhães is an architect and holds an M.Arch from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP). Prior to founding his practice, he worked at Harry Gugger Studio in Basel and SANAA in Tokyo. In 2013, he co-founded fala atelier, which he leads with Ana Luisa Soares, Ahmed Belkhodja, and Lera Samovich, together with Ana Lima, João Carlos Lopes, Catarina Vilarinho, and Eduardo Loureiro. fala’s work has received international recognition, including monographic issues such as 2G 80 (2020) and a+u 2023:10, and the practice has lectured widely at universities worldwide, from Tokyo to Zurich. Magalhães is a Visiting Professor at EPFL and, since 2020, a doctoral researcher at FAUP.
